How collection membership decides which new products are tagged.
For a Specific Collections task with auto-processing, a new product is tagged only if it belongs to one of the task's collections.
Membership is checked at creation
TAGit checks the product's collections when Shopify reports that it was created. This works well for:
- Automated (smart) collections — rules such as product type or vendor add the product right away
- Products you assign to a manual collection while creating them
Added to a collection later?
If you create the product first and add it to a manual collection afterward, it is not auto-processed. Run a Specific Products task for those items, or set up a recurring task on the collection.
Several tasks
If more than one ongoing task matches a new product, the product may be tagged by each of them. Keep one auto-processing task per collection to avoid overlap.
